3 Most Popular Designer Dog Tags: Gucci, David Yurman, and Tiffany
So you're looking for designer dog tags but you aren't sure what's out there? 3 of the hottest designers make great dog tags: Gucci, Tiffany, and David Yurman. Here we cover all 3 and give you the low down on styles, prices, and my personal opinion on each.
Gucci Dog Tags
Let's start with the most popular - Gucci. Out of the 3 different dog tags from Gucci are by far the most in-demand.
The tags themselves look great but the chain they typically come with leave something to be desired - just a simply ball link chain I'm not too much a fan of. I really prefer something a little bigger, a thicker box chain I think would look a lot better.
However, this is about the tags and not the chain so in that case I think they are good for the price.
Gucci also makes different styles - check out the Trademark Necklace which looks like a large rectangular tag, as well as the Oval & Square dog tags (which I think are pretty ugly actually).
If you want to make sure you're not buying a replica piece be sure to catch it at Neiman Marcus for $320. Otherwise you can check Ebay, I have seen tags on there sell for as little as $50. Check out the deals we have on Gucci Dog Tags.

Dog Tags by Designer David Yurman
Probably the most expensive dog tags out of the bunch, David Yurman has been crafting high quality jewelry for celebrities for years. Their dog tags have a bulkier style, and are super polished.
The various styles they have are very, very stylish and unique.
My favorites are the Alligator Dog Tag, the Chevron Dog Tag.... and the Onyx tag is HOT! I really think they have seperated themselves from other designers who just make the usual polished sterling silver tags. The dog tags from Yurman look really fashionable and are a cut above the rest. The chains the tags come with are also nice and think, you definintely get what you pay for here.
If you're lucky you can catch these on E-Bay at a good price, just make sure you're not buying replicas. If you pay retail you'll be paying a little bit higher, depending on the style of course. However, you will have the security knowing they are authentic if you buy from David Yurman himself.
Tiffany Co's Classic Dog Tags
If you're on a budget I would suggest going with Tiffany Dog Tags. If you want to buy any kind of Tiffany jewelry on the net I want to warn you right off the bat - it's nearly impossible to find unless you go straight to Tiffany Co.
If you don't mind buying an unauthentic piece you can get them for as low as $40-$100. Authentic tags will run you around $250, which is the least expensive for authentic dog tags among all of these designers.
They have some pretty decent styles. My favorite are the atlas pendants. They have a shape of a long, thin dog tag and display roman numerals in dark, interesting shades. The Coin Edge dog tag offers a peculiar mix of money and tags. You will also find the classic branded dog tag that shows the designer. Unfortunately, like Gucci their necklaces come on cheap looking ball links.
I really wish they would put them on a better chain if you're going to pay $200+ for one of these. It looks like Yurman is the only designer that got this right.
Which ones are your favorite? Drop me a comment.
