The Gucci Diaper Bag Test: Is it Real or Fake?

The Gucci diaper bag is amazing work of design and exquisite craftsmanship and carries with it a reputation for quality that's recognized and respected around the globe. Unfortunately counterfeiters are all too well aware if this fact and use it to deceive well intentioned bargain shoppers every day.

So Then How Can You Tell if it's the Genuine Article?

The very first thing that should be checked is the “overall exterior craftsmanship”. You see, the standards that are are used to grade the quality at a production house are exacting and definite. All work and materials must be (flawless). Even the slightest fault disqualifies any piece and Gucci never sells seconds or factory rejects. They are all destroyed.

Check the Inside Lining of a Gucci Diaper Bag

If the exterior looks fine, then move to the inside lining. Fortunately counterfeiters all too often make crucial mistakes on the interiors of even high grade knock-offs. So take the time to look for "crooked seams" and or loose dangling threads. Also check the quality of the lining itself. It should be “superior” grade.

Examine the Zippers for Quality and a Logo

Zippers on Gucci knock-offs are all too often, yet one more weak area. For starters, every zipper handle should have a “clear high quality” Gucci logo on it. Also the zipper itself should be solid, “of the highest quality and should function “smoothly and freely”. All Gucci zippers are tested to work flawlessly prior to being sent to market.

What About a Certificate of Authenticity?

For some reason some people seem to be easily duped by a “certificate of authenticity”. The fact is that they are even more easy to counterfeit then the Gucci diaper bag is. Simply ignore any certificate and judge a bag on its quality alone. If you have a bag that contains a certificate, yet the bag has some minor flaw, you can rest assured it “is a fake”.
